Amplifon and LIUC University together for hearing prevention. Quick tests for students with digital audiometer
Milan, November 19, 2025 - Amplifon, the global leader in hearing care services and solutions, and LIUC University in Castellanza (VA) have joined forces on a project aimed at raising awareness among young people about hearing health and the importance of prevention. On November 20 and 21, all LIUC students who wish to participate will be able to take a free hearing test.
According to the World Health Organization (WHO), more than 1 billion people under the age of 35 are currently at risk of hearing loss from exposure to excessively high sound levels at entertainment venues, such as nightclubs and concert halls, excessive use of personal listening devices, or even due to noise pollution.
The screenings will be carried out by Amplifon staff using OtoKiosk, an innovative digital audiometer developed and patented by AmplifonX, the Group’s research and development division.
OtoKiosk is a CE and FDA (Food and Drug Administration) certified medical device that enables an accurate and simple test to be performed in just a few minutes. This technology is already used by Amplifon in Italy and the United States, confirming the company’s commitment to offering cutting-edge solutions for hearing prevention.
The initiative is part of the Listen Responsibly project, included in Amplifon’s sustainability plan, which promotes a culture of responsible listening among young people. Listen Responsibly is also a free app that measures environmental noise through smartphones and helps create a map of the acoustic ecology of monitored locations.
The activity at the University is part of the Counseling and Well-Being Service of LIUC, directed by Dr. Alessandra Massironi, an expression of how the University actualizes the responsibility of its mission: to enrich, disseminate, and implement knowledge and innovation, with a unique ability to transform them into actions and resources for the growth of the community, starting with those who will be the talents of a desirable generative future – young people.
The concept of education in the LIUC model does not simply involve the transfer of technical skills. For LIUC, education means providing awareness and a complex vision that allows individuals to navigate the world first and foremost as people.
In this perspective, the University has long invested in specialized areas with scientific initiatives related to social and health sciences, representing inclusive knowledge that, by addressing health education and a true culture of positive behaviors, improves people’s quality of life and fosters sustainable socio-environmental habitats.
Characterized by a strong openness to innovation challenges, LIUC has welcomed this opportunity to collaborate with Amplifon on Listen Responsibly with great appreciation, dedicating it to all its staff and students.
